My wrestling career began as a 3rd grader in Kodiak, Alaska! I was a state champion in youth wrestling a couple times and the outstanding wrestler at the state tournament as a sixth grader. (I wrestled two weight classes at state that year and placed 1st and 3rd!)
As a seventh grader we moved to Wyoming where I was a 2x conference champ in middle school. I eventually became a state champion as a senior at 125 pounds and received a scholarship to wrestle at the University of Wyoming.
After that I helped coach in South Dakota and eventually moved to Nebraska. A friend asked if I could help them train for the Black Hills Nationals in Spearfish, South Dakota, and I decided to wrestle in the tournament as well!
I ended up placing first and decided this was a good time to retire from competitive wrestling as family and friends got to be there for the event.
These shoes were used solely to train for and wrestle in the Black Hills Nationals, so they have plenty of life left in them. There are some scuff marks and wearing on the outer ankles. Other than that, they are some great shoes ready for the mat!
As a veteran wrestler with many years of experience, I can honestly say that these are some of the best shoes I’ve wrestled in!
