I bought a lot of tools at an auction that included many leather or shoemaker’s or harness maker’s tools. I know little about such tools and have tried to identify them using various tool guides etc. Please email any questions. This is an

BREAKER OR FLOAT.
(Inv. no 0329) It is float-cut, ie, with coarse horizontal serrations, usually made with half the teeth slanted in one direction and half in the other, and thus work on both the pull and push stroke. The end of the peg is caught in one of the teeth and then broken off; after which the tool can be used to smooth up. It is unmarked. It is about 27 inches long total. The head is about 3 x 1 1/8 x ¼ inches It is in very good to fine condition. There are no cracks, splits, etc in the handle. I am selling it as an antique but I think it could still be used. Starting price is .95. Shipping weight is 2 pounds 15 ounces.
