Description
This is a very nice decorative collector plate commemorating Mark McGwire’s record breaking 62nd
Home Run.
It was designed by Glen Green for the Bradford Exchange.
This is a limited edition of 95 firing days, is numbered 5767J and measures 8 inches in diameter. It has gold trim around the edge and is in excellent condition.
According to my research, the record he beat was set by Roger Maris in 1961.
Mark McGwire retired from the Saint Louis Cardinals in 2001 then laid low because of the controversy involving steroid use in baseball.
He returned as a batting coach in 2010.
Thanks for looking!
