Non Harmful - Burns 100% Pure Glycerin or Lionel Smoke Fluid
for Model RR Applications and other Dioramas
Great for scenes or dioramas where larger amounts of smoke are required -like a forest fire, burning house, etc. and very economical to operate.  These heater units
produce a large volume of smoke.  The output can be split to go to more destinations on your scene by inserting an aquarium air flow distributor and using more plastic tubing.
The heater coil must have a power supply that can be controlled between 3.2 and 3.7Vdc (max).  The motor for the air pump must have a supply voltage of 3V to 6VDC.  Both the motor and the heater require a higher amperage rating of 3 to 5 Amps.  I recommend an old DC train transformer with higher amperage and adjustable voltage output.
Soldering the small wires to the heater coil requires good soldering skills.  The surfaces must be cleaned with alcohol and both the wire and the surface must be pretinned.  If the coil overheats in use, the wires can desolder.  I recommend not exceeding 3.2Vdc and not for continuous operation.  I only operate my units for 10 sec out of every minute for smoke stacks, which produce plenty of effect.   Could be wired with a push-button switch for simple momentary operation.
Please Note:  This Smoke Generator is intended for scenic smoke effects and cannot be used directly in locomotive stacks or caboose chimneys.

Application:
This unit produces great smoke effects, operates economically on 100% glycerin,  and produces no harmful vapors.
I recommend intermittent operation.  S
imple push-button switches could be used to achieve independent momentary operation.  I use a sequence timer that activates the heater coils independently and the air pump for intermittent operation, turns off the heater coils after 10 -15 sec,  allows the air pump to run 10-15 sec longer to clear the smoke and cool the heater coil, and finally pause for 30-40 sec for cooling.  This intermittent effect is great for most applications like chimneys, campfires, etc.  For a forest fire or burning building, a slightly longer run-time and shorter pause is needed but not continuous operation.  Continuous operation produces too much smoke and too much heat.  The best effects are created with hints of the illusion or traces of smoke.
Use one Infinite Cycling Timer/Delay Control for the heater coil in this kit.
